Hello Again!

Hello everyone!

I am sorry to have been away for so long, but I am BACK! “But Tara, where have you been?” You may ask. “Have you been away on some exotic vacation? Climbing the Alps? Swimming with the dolphins?!?!”

While every day feels like a holiday around here, (right), sadly, no I haven’t done the Polar Bear Challenge, or been performing swan dives out of airplanes in the South Pacific… I’ve been home. Running from Walgreens to swimming lessons, to CVS, to birthday parties, to Target, to the laundry room…. just another normal week of summer vacation!

So how does one go from posting every day to disappearing for 2 weeks? Well, in addition to trying to keep my boys entertained, healthy and active, and trying to keep myself from turning back into a couch potato AND trying to keep my husband from driving me completely insane….. I’ve started couponing. Now for those of you who automatically are associating coupons with the TLC show, I PROMISE you that I am not at that level. Seriously! I am aware that I have no pets, so I am not going to buy 8 years of cat food just because it’s on sale for $.05 per can. That’s madness. I am doing a modified version, in that I only buy items  that my family will actually use!!!

To answer your first questions, YES, I have a coupon binder(and I think I’m in love with it), NO, you should not get in line behind me at the store and YES, I am doing a fine job of making enemies with cashiers all over my town!

So as you may have figured out by now, I obsess a little over projects. Especially new ones. Chances are, if you have been to CVS, Walgreen, Target, Rite-Aid or the grocery store at any time during the last week, you’ve probably seen me! That being said, I did jump right in and started the madness full tilt and it’s going really well! In a period of about a week and a half, I saved more than 63% on my groceries.

It’s been good! Momma loves a bargin! And I got paid 10 cents a box to take brownies out of the store last weekend. Made Curtis VERY happy. Made my workouts SUCK!!!!

It does take some time to commit and I have met some STRANGE people at the stores… seriously, you attract a lot of attention when you roll into the store with a lot of coupons, but talking to people and hearing their crazy stories cracks me up. I know I posted this links before, but I have to say that the best sites I have found for the coupon match ups and tutorials are Saving Well Spending Less and Krazy Coupon Lady.

Tomorrow starts a new sale cycle at most stores, so I am on a mission to see if I can up my savings to 75%. Wish me luck! If you are doing this, leave a comment. I’d love to hear about it!

I’ve been dabbling in the coupon world myself. I like the coupon clipping sites for extra coupons when there’s a good deal and I made myself a little binder too.

I’ve been dabbling in the coupon world myself. Since we only have 2 grocery stores in P-ville I don’t have a lot of choice. Though I’ve done pretty good. I found that when I need extra coupons for those really good deals I go to a coupon clipping site. I will get soy milk for .69 for the rest of the year.
