I’m still here!

Hello Friends, Mommies, Fellow-Fat Fighters,

I am sorry to have been gone for so long! This summer has been kicking my butt! One of my neighbors likes to congratulate second time (and subsequent) parents by saying “Welcome to REAL Parenting…” Now as a totally neurotic, over involved mother of one, this offended me. As a totally overwhelmed mother of two, I think she should change it to “welcome to HARD CORE parenting!”

There’s been plenty of hot nonsense going on that has filled any free moments I’ve had, so sadly my Chubby Housewife love got bumped to the back seat, but I am going to try to get back into the swing and I promise that I will be on a MUCH more regular schedule of crazy tales once school starts… (If I survive until then!)

What’s happening with me? Well besides the daily obnoxious -ness of dealing with things like fighting with insurance companies, getting a love note from my pediatrician’s office telling me they can’t strike a deal with our insurance (what are they NFL players?) so we have to find a new doctor for the children…. (NOT GOOD TIMES FOR AN UPTIGHT MOMMY) to trying to plan a birthday blowout for Anthony (he’s so close to 6 he can taste it!)

I’ve mostly been trying to keep Anthony from forgetting everything he learned in Kindergarten, keeping up with Jack who is starting to crawl (unfortunately he thinks he is ready to just get up and run and gets frustrated that he can’t.) I have become a couponing fool. Now that I am getting a real handle on it, the time involved has gone way down and the savings are way up! I spend a grand total of $2.32 on school supplies!! (In the interest of full disclosure, I will admit, I am re-using a pencil box, but STILL!) I LOVE it and have actually helped another mommy get started (yay!)

Anthony is VERY excited for his upcoming birthday and every trip to the store, commercial, or magazine that enters into our day sparks off a new list of things I can get him for his birthday. (Very thoughtful of him to help out with this, but he REALLY is not getting a trampoline, a life sized race car, or moon sand.) (SERIOUSLY MOM… ARE YOU READING THIS??? NO LIFE SIZED RACE CARS! THIS MEANS YOU!!)

We did get to go out for a grown up double dinner date last night! It was glorious….

And Jack just woke up and started screaming…. more soon!

P.S. I bought a treadmill, can now run for 26 minutes straight, am training for a 5K AND did a really cool new craft project that I will tell you about next week…. 🙂

Curtis builds the treadmill!

Girl I tried that whole couponing thing and just couldn’t get a good grasp of it – every now and then the universe lines up with what I need to buy and what is on sale and I’ll have a coupon too but that’s not as often as it needs to be….good for you for getting it down!
