What do you mean I’m not a size six… I’ve been working out all week!

Hello out there!

Don’t worry I haven’t gone back into seclusion. It’s just been crazier than usual around here. Jack has taken to climbing up on to every piece of furniture we own, (the higher the better as far as he is concerned), I am trying to get this place pulled together for company this weekend, we have been taking full advantage of the fall weather and between baseball, family bike rides and trips to the local farm I am exhausted (the house is a disaster because of it!)!

Yes, that’s Anthony… milking a cow!

So what’s with the title of this post? Well… that’s all me. I am not the most patient person on the planet. (Some of you are rolling your eyes right now… I know!) This weekend I am the MC for my brother’s US wedding reception. (If you recall, he got married in Holland where he now lives, but  he and his husband are having a party here for the fam and friends in the states). So I have been trying to figure out what to wear!

Now I know I’ve been working hard, and the pounds are (slowly but surely) coming off. Unfortunately, my actual body dimensions have not yet caught up with how I think I look after 2 weeks of this challenge. Even MORE unfortunately, this realization hit right as I had a few days of stagnation on the scale (truth be told, I even bounced up a half pound… and YES I know that’s normal and that is why you aren’t supposed to get on the scale every day, but I’m addicted!) The GOOD news.. I broke through that mini plateau and am losing again…  AND thanks to a good friend I have a SUPER cute dress to wear… (THANK YOU FOR THE LOAN!!) The not so good news (aka reality of the situation) is I still have a LONG way to go. BUT I am getting there.

Yesterday I had a lazy, snack craving day. I hit my calorie quota at about 1 pm. Not awesome. Chocolate and peanut butter were involved. I was at the tipping point at about 2:45…. do I work out, or do I blow it…. fortunately one of my friends called to say she and her daughter were going to stop by in 20 min. Pressure was on! I was out of time. I grabbed my running shoes and hit the treadmill only to have my knees and ankle start to scream in protest. Jumped off the treadmill and onto elliptical! (This is why it’s always good to have workout options…) I worked as hard as I could for the next 15 min when the doorbell rang. It wasn’t my best workout, but it was something, and more importantly, it got me off the couch and AWAY from the food!

After a nice visit, I was recharged and jumped back on the elliptical until it was time to get AJ off the bus. Which was about 10 min. After dinner, we pulled out the bikes and went for a family ride… I took off with the baby to hit a few hills to up my heart rate while Curt and AJ looped around.

So even though I didn’t have a solid hour available to work out, I got it in where I could.

Yes, he is holding scissors. Now accepting nominations for mother of the year…

Just because things are CRAZY doesn’t mean I am going to give up on my goals. I just will have to continue to figure out ways to fit it all in.

Seriously. This kid will climb anything.

Because what good is all the hard work if you can’t have fun, too?!?

Great job with all you have going on! A couple of weeks ago you helped to inspire me to work towards reaching my goal weight. So thanks! Have fun this weekend! I look forward to future posts.

Good job getting away from the food. Have you tried PB2 for your peanut butter fix? It is without the fat so only 45 cal for 2 Tbsp. When feeling snacky with little control I make a peanut butter and sugarless jelly sandwich all for 160 cals!
